Issues to address

Our old kitchen was non compliant against new statutory regulations and was more recently assessed as a fire risk. It was of the utmost importance that these safety issues were addressed quickly and efficiently out of term time as many of our students relied on it for their hot meals. S2e rose to the challenge and helped us secure funding and project manage the build.

Working together

S2e were able to secure funding for the kitchen refit through a CIF bid. They quickly put a plan together to address safety issues such as poor ventilation and the absence of a gas safety interlock system, as well as making sure the new layout and materials used did not pose a fire risk. Crucially, S2e did not just replace like for like they re-designed the kitchen with the help of our Head Chef ensuring that the final layout design was efficient for everyday usage.

The Outcome

We are so pleased with the final result! Not only does the kitchen look fantastic, it meets all the regulatory compliance tests and has also allowed our Head Chef to be able to operate as efficiently as possible. Our pupils and staff will be able to enjoy eating food produced on site for many years to come and we could not have achieved this without S2e’s expert guidance.
